    The Dog Days of Summer

August is here, and you may be feeling the summer doldrums. It’s at this time when many of us start to get antsy and eager to return to a routine – one that a school schedule helps to provide. If you spent your summer working, you may also be feeling the itch to return to class so you can spend more time with your friends. However you spent the first portion of your summer, now is the time to start preparing for the school year ahead.

Will you be entering post-secondary school for the first time? This is a very exciting time in your life – so enjoy it! One of my favourite things about preparing for post-secondary education was the shopping; for a lot of people, this will be the first time that they really have to think about the items they need to live their life. Your own cooking pots, plates, heck, even toilet paper – you need to start analyzing life in a different way and making priorities when it comes to your purchases.

For students in high school, you’re probably dreaming about your future and what life post-high school will hold for you. Take the time to explore JobsPeopleDo.com and learn about the different career paths available to you. There is so much to discover and so many different paths your life could take!

As always, we have a fresh list of ten scholarships that you can apply for this month – don’t be afraid to go for that free money! You’ll be glad you did.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and we will see you back here in September with a few new features that you’re sure to love.

We think you will love it and we can’t wait to hear your feedback on this great tool!

This winter has been a particularly long one for all of us across this vast country, so we hope that April’s arrival will bring warmer temperatures and melting snow to all of Canada. As the temperatures warm up, be sure to make time for yourself to get outside and get yourself moving. Keeping active will help you to gain clarity, especially when you are trying to decide what you want to do after you finish high school!

  • Kindness – It’s In Our Nature

Kindness – It’s In Our Nature

Being kind is an innate characteristic that we all possess. Don’t let peer pressure change you into something you are not! Bullying is not something that comes naturally to any of us. If you see someone being bullied, speak up. Help out. Don’t sit in silence and let it continue. Be the person that you know you can be! This month, we have two articles on bullying that will help you make the right choices.

In our Scholarships section, we’ve listed 10 new scholarships/bursaries that you can apply for. It’s hard to believe, but this year is almost over! That means it is time to start preparing your applications for 2013 scholarships. Get a head start so you won’t have to scramble later!

Finally, November is a month of remembrance. Whether you watch the Remembrance Day ceremonies on television or attend one in your city, it is important that we remember all that has been lost and sacrificed for our freedom. Chances are you are related to someone who has gone to war, so learn about their experiences and share them!

    Have a great, productive month!
