HOW TO GET THERE
Typical pathway
A typical path is to finish secondary school with courses in math, physics, and English, then build aviation knowledge through postsecondary study or other flight training that some employers may prefer or require. Many people start in related aviation roles, such as airline or ground operations, maintenance, or other aircraft-support work, to learn aircraft systems and procedures. Strong communication, attention to detail, and comfort with computers can help. Requirements can vary by employer, aircraft type, and province, so some candidates may need additional training or experience before working on flights.
