HOW TO GET THERE
Typical pathway
A typical path starts with senior high school courses in science, math, and health-related subjects. Students often complete some post-secondary study in a related area, then enter a Doctor of Chiropractic program or another recognized chiropractic program. In school, they learn anatomy, physiology, assessment, hands-on treatment, and how to advise patients on exercise, posture, and lifestyle. After graduation, chiropractors usually gain early experience in clinics under the rules of their province or employer, and some begin by working with other health professionals. Requirements can vary by province, school, and practice setting.
