HOW TO GET THERE
Typical pathway
A typical path is to finish secondary school and build strong skills in computer, media, and electronics-related courses, along with English, photography, or other creative classes. Many students then take a college or private career program in audio engineering, broadcasting, film, or a related field, or learn through hands-on training and volunteer work in school media, community events, or local studios. Early experience often comes from helping set up microphones, cameras, and recording gear, and learning to check sound levels and troubleshoot equipment. Entry routes can vary by employer, province, or specialization.
