HOW TO GET THERE
Typical pathway
A common pathway is to finish secondary school and gain experience in a customer-service setting such as a hotel, theatre, recreation centre, or similar workplace. Many people start in an entry-level service job, learn company procedures, and build skills in communication, scheduling, problem-solving, and teamwork. Some employers may prefer or provide training in supervision, safety procedures, and workplace policies, and requirements can vary by employer, province, or type of service operation. Short college or university courses in supervision, management, or related business skills may also help prepare for early supervisory responsibilities.
