HOW TO GET THERE
Typical pathway
A typical pathway starts in secondary school with courses like business, math, English, computers and, when useful, a second language. After graduation, many people learn through a college diploma, on-the-job training, or some post-secondary study in business or a related field, depending on the employer and province. Early experience in sales, customer service, banking, or another client-facing role can help build communication and networking skills. Some positions may involve employer-specific training and any required licensing or registration rules that vary by province or specialty.
